Have you ever heard the term VOCs or Volatile Organic Compounds? VOCs are organic chemicals that have a high vaporizing property at standard room temperatures. To a layman, VOC is that odd smell you get from paints, gasoline, glue, correction fluid, marker pens, even nail varnish remover.
What’s worrying is the potential harmful effect of VOCs – with symptoms like burning sensation in the eyes and throat, skin rashes, headaches and, at the extreme end, a direct link to cancer, kidney and liver damage, etc. Read about VOCs in this infographic – and do read the labels of products with VOCs.
