‘There is much difference between imitating a man and counterfeiting him.’ Plagiarism, or the act of presenting others’ ideas or words as your own and not acknowledging it, is cheating, or ‘counterfeiting’ as stated in the first line. Plagiarism could be the outcome of a lazy mind, an over-worked mind, or a cunning mind that tries the easier option – either way it’s wrong and can be prosecuted.
