Teaching Kids To Speak Out Against Bullying

Raising children isn’t easy, and it’s especially difficult to navigate the topic of bullying with your kids. As many as one in every five kids reports being bullied, and bullying leads to missed school, depression, and even an increased risk of attempted suicide. Bullying is serious, yet many adults scold children who report being bullied.

Parents need to teach kids how to deal with problems by themselves and when to involve adults if it gets serious. Kids who have special needs or who belong to the LGBTQ community as well as those who are not caucasian report significantly higher instances of bullying.
