Here’s a troubling statistic: every year, around 800,000 people die by suicide – in other words, one person dies from suicide every 40 seconds! What is worse, is the evidence that shows that for each successful suicide, there are at least 20 cases of attempted suicide. In numbers, that’s 1.6 million could-be suicides annually. Even worse, the highest occurrence is in the 15-29 age group, which should have been the prime years.
This infographic highlights suicide statistics of 25 countries, i.e., the rate of suicide per 100,000 population, for men and women respectively. Whatever the inferences, it’s a sad story.
