There must be a good reason why Facebook’s color palette is Blue Hex and YouTube’s is Red Hex. There must be strong logic to why designers chose the fonts they did when creating the brand look. Facebook, for example, attributes their color choice to a vision condition suffered by Mark Zuckerberg called deuteranopia – a form of color-blindness, but the one color he can identify is blue!
However, the two design principles that always work are simplicity and recognizability. Here’s a reference cheat-sheet of the colors and logos of major social media apps.
