The United States Capitol buildings are among the most architecturally beautiful structures in the nation. Most of them are capped by a stately dome, a grand symbol of national unity – even though the Capitols have been built over 200 years (the oldest was built in 1797 at Annapolis, Maryland), this is one design component that been retained.
Here’s an infographic that showcases the design of each Capitol, how much was spent for its construction, and the present value. Note the comparatively minuscule number of people who work within these huge edifices!
