The estimated amount of plastic waste generated by humans over the last 70 years is around 6300 metric tons (that’s a staggering 6.3 million kilograms!) Even more mindboggling is the fact that only 9% of this waste has been recycled – the remaining humongous amount sits in landfills and in the rivers and oceans, slowly but surely choking our planet.
