The Food Pyramid concept, first popularized by the USDA in 1992, comprised six horizontal food-group sections – veggies, grains, fruits, oils and sweets, dairy, and meats and beans – with servings recommendations for each. This was replaced in 2005 with a vertical food pyramid highlighting that each group was equally important for good health.
What it missed was modern world reality where almost all products, including water, are loaded with pesticides, processing chemicals, hormones and antibiotics. Where’s the health and nutrition? Here’s an alternate pyramid that focuses on the natural and organic way to good health.
