According to the National Safety Council, there were 40,100 vehicle deaths in 2017 – a slightly lesser figure than the previous year, but still a worrisome statistic. There is enough written and debated on the reasons for such high numbers, ranging from drunk driving, to not using seat-belts, to using mobile phones while driving, to insufficient anti-speeding laws. Whatever the reason, an average of 110 deaths per day is a sad number.
