Is there such a thing as too much physical activity, or too little physical activity? For example, you could say that strolling around the house is physical activity, but is it doing anything for your health and wellbeing? However, wearing yourself down with a grueling no-rest routine is also not doing your body any favors.
The American Heart Association has laid down physical activity standards for optimal heart health. It recommends a five-point program for adults, that encourages a mix of aerobic activities, HIIT and muscle-strengthening routines, as highlighted in this infographic.
