Hot dogs are a grand American tradition. On the 4th of July alone, Americans eat around 150 million hot dogs, that means almost 50% of the population is tucking into the perennial favorite! It’s said that the long ‘dachshund’ sausage was first introduced to America at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago – and the name hot ‘dog’ evolved!
