According to research data, the three biggest reasons that drive acquisition are expansion of product portfolio, technology acquisition, and expanding customer base. Google Co-founder Larry Page put it more simply: he applied the ‘toothbrush test’ to ascertain the companies worth acquiring – ‘Is this something you will use once or twice a day, and does it make your life better?’
