Autism is defined as a group of developmental disabilities that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral changes. Children and adults afflicted by Autism Spectrum Disorder face problems with concentration, verbal and non-verbal communication, social interactions and behavior patterns.
What is a matter of extreme concern is how the diagnosis rates for Autism are practically jumping up the scale – from 1 in 150 to 1 in 50 in less than 20 years! To enable unimpaired development and empower autistic persons, it is imperative to recognize, empathize and accept, and not ignore the symptoms as behavioral mistakes.
