Foreign aid, in its simplest form, means the sharing of resources by rich-resource nations with those who don’t have enough. It can take the form of money, food, manpower, healthcare, materials, services – but the essential purpose is humanitarian and economic development assistance.
To oversee this process, the Development Assistance Committee was set up by 30 major donors, and this infographic highlights the flow of donor funds in 2017 – the amount of aid assistance given by each of the 30 countries and the top 10 beneficiaries who received aid.
