The first manufacturing revolution took place almost 250 years ago in the 18th and 19th century and was termed the First Industrial Revolution. It ushered dramatic shifts in manufacturing processes and was the precursor to the second revolution in the early 20th century which gave the world electrification, cars and many other marvelous inventions.
Today, there is the possibility of a third manufacturing revolution, but popular myths generated over many decades about low pay, dying industry, etc., are blocking people from pursuing manufacturing jobs. The facts, however, are completely different, as discussed in this infographic.
