Banning certain foods is not a new phenomenon – Governments around the world have taken this extreme stance for various reasons – flouting health standards, against the cultural customs of that country, not meeting dietary recommendations and norms, etc. Sometimes, the reasons make sense, other times they don’t – like chewing gum being banned in Singapore and M&Ms in Sweden.
