In June 2017, Amazon made history by acquiring Whole Foods for a whopping 13.7 billion dollars. It was their largest ever acquisition, a sign of their ambition to straddle the brick-n-mortar market too. This was, of course, not their first acquisition – Amazon has been, on and off, acquiring companies that fit their growth plans. However, from 2017, they have drastically revved their pace and, this year, they have already made 7 acquisitions.
